The second iteration for this residence in Little Italy presents an entirely new, more demure contemporary duplex to stand alongside the neighbourhood's 1920s brick housing and industrial buildings. The small size of the project and its simple form respect its minimal budget. Choice of materials, articulation, proportion, and composition ensure that the house simultaneously fits in and stands out. Once again capitalizing on the client's love for the neighbourhood and her desire for light, maximized floor to ceiling openings and an open plan create an unusually intimate connection with the surrounding context.
 

Enclavé entre deux duplex en brique existants des années 1920, ce nouveau duplex de la rue Waverly se situe dans une zone tranquille, mais hétéroclite de la Petite Italie. Considérant le budget restreint, le projet allie ici petit format aux formes simples, sans toutefois manquer de concilier l'amour pour le quartier du client à son désir de lumière et d'un plan ouvert. Le choix des matériaux, l’articulation du plan horizontal ainsi que les proportions assure simultanément que la maison s’insère et se démarque, tout en maintenant une connexion particulièrement intime avec son contexte environnant.
